Rewheel - Finland based telecoms management consultancy publicizes a document which reveals that Canadian face least competitive wireless pricing, although they spend a very high amount of wireless data.
Rewheel conducted a study through which they got to know that how many Gigabytes of 4G wireless data mobile-users in OECD and EU-28 countries were able to get for 30 euros (or approximately $46 CAD).
Another study discovered that for $46 CAD, Canadians are getting very least amount of 2 GB for wireless data. Consumers are not getting the sufficient data to use as they are paying amount. While other countries offer unlimited data to its users. This shows that Canada is failed to meet the consumers’ demand.
Moreover, Wireless customers in Croatia, Austria, Finland, Lithuania, Slovenia, Switzerland, Latvia, Estonia, and Poland are getting unlimited data on the same price.
Another study portrays the failure of Canada and the US in paying high mobile charges as compared to other countries. The study says Canada and US are paying “exorbitant mobile broadband gigabyte prices”.
In December 2017, a report commissioned by Canada’s Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED), that mentioned Canada as the country that pays the highest amount for wireless data.
