Threats of extensive flooding is expected today in southern side of Ontario. Drenching rains are to be seen!
Flooding might become a serious concern for southern Ontario, some parts can pick up 70+ mm of rain throughout Wednesday.
This spring-like weather does NOT signal an end to winter, however, with March likely to bring more "significant winter weather."
"Gulf of Mexico moisture tracking into the region along a semi-stationary boundary will bring excessive rainfall for parts of southern Ontario through Wednesday," says Weather Network meteorologist Nadine Hinds-Powell.
A very mild air mass, ushered in by southwesterly winds around the northern edge of a large Bermuda high pressure area, has brought record setting April-like warmth to much of Southern Ontario. These high temperatures are seen despite the series of rain that soaked most of the area. So get ready and make sure to stay safe in such weather.
